Dunfermline Town Centre
 
Dunfermline town centre is a modern pedestrianised area with a shopping centre in the high street, current projects are underway to enhance the current services and facilities.
 
Facilities in and around the centre include the Carnegie Theatre, the Carnegie Library, the Carnegie Sports Centre, the Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum and the Abbots House Museum.

 
 
Recent developments and growth in Dunfermline has hatched 2 new projects for live music. The old Kinema Ballroom is due to open late November / December 2007 and will play host to larger touring bands with state of the art sound and light systems. The venue is steaped in a history of live music from the 1930s' onwards supporting all types of music from Swing through Rock n Roll, Punk, Rock and all the way to modern day pop and dance music. The new refurbished Ballroom promises to be the home of top touring acts and will promote top names and popular artistes.
 
Also under new management is the Dunfermline Alhambra. The Alhambra is a large Theatre/Concert hall and opened in 1922 and has gone through various changes over the years and ended up as a Carlton Bingo Hall. The Alhambra was bought in the middle of 2007 will plans to open up in 2008 as a 1,000 plus capacity venue catering for top names and touring artistes.
